Clarity (Clarity Novel)

Clarity - Kim Harrington I feel like I'm always the last one to pick up the "new" releases. (New.. ha. T.T)Clarity was a very good read, although after the very intense beginning, it was boring at times. - Aside from the Fern's (Clare, Perry and Daria's) psychic abilities and the fact that I just don't see any major or detective allowing their children - in this case the romantic interest Gabriel and exboyfriend Justin - to be part of a murder investigation like that, Clarity felt real.Okay, that probably doesn't make sense to many people. What I'm talking about is the human nature. Harrington just got it across. Does that make sense? They all were real, not flawless, not too much this or that. Their relationships felt real, I could understand why they'd do what they did. All of the characters could be real persons. The paranormal element doesn't really feel big or important. It's more Young Adult Fiction plus Suspense plus Romance. And then a little Fantasy that's working more as a catalyst to keep things going. So, you could say, it feels natural. (Yes, a telepath mom? Everydaylife)The romance. Sooo, as I said, she has this exboyfriend, Justin. He wasn't nice in the past, although it seems it wasn't his intention. And then, of course there is the new guy, Gabriel, the son of the policeguy. While Justin trusts Clare and believes in her psychic abilities, Gabriel is .. kind of disgusted. And he has good reasons, too. Both of them have their good and bad sides, so I really don't know whom I'd chose. Okay, I guess I couldn't look into Justin's face without feeling the need to cry, but he's obviously a decent guy. On the other hand, Gabriel isn't bad either.. Or is he? ;b And since when is >bad< a bad thing? I'd just like to know why both of them feel attracted to Clare. She's nice, I know, but I still don't see .. Well, I'll just have to wait and see, right?Sexual Content: Kissing, references to sexThe plot was okay, actually it would've been very, very good if I didn't know who the murderer was from page xy on. As soon as I knew almost all the characters I knew with for 100% who the killer was. I didn't figure out why, though. Anyway, this is the reason why I only rate it 4- for now. :)I'd like to talk about Clare's family more, but I think I've written enough ;) But I really need to know what's up with Clare's father. Or his absense. Next to that I'm very much wondering what's the deal with Nate. Maybe theres more of him in Perception?Check the book out, it's definately worth it.
